​Wholeness is an obsession of mine, especially as it relates to our experience as sentient beings. The whole person: who is it, what is it, why is it, how do we maintain it, where does it unravel? An illusion, a holy vision, a shrug of the shoulders? To capture the essence of an experience, of an individual, on the page, is an alchemical act of transfiguration. It is a conversion of time into space. In these sketches, I wanted to build topographical maps with layers of dimension so that a structure might emerge and expand within a moment, a space to be explored and analyzed and most importantly occupied. If only we could possess the full picture of things, of thoughts, of memories, of emotions, of past and future intersecting to form the eternal present within an individual's life, if we could see within, completely, and outside- perhaps all would be forgiven.
